As an Ontario College of Teachers affiliate, with teaching qualifications in dance, we are able to provide quality dance instruction in schools to help meet the needs of the curriculum. We can also provide thorough assessment tools for grading expectations relevant to the Ontario Dance Curriculum.
In primary grades, students will focus on creativity and expression. Students will start to familiarize themselves with the elements of dance, particularly space, time, and body.
In Grades 4 - 6, students will deepen their dance knowledge. They will identify, demonstrate, and combine all elements of dance, and learn about the use of choreographic forms.
In Grades 7 and 8, students will utilize the elements of dance in their own choreographies. Choreographies will explore ideas and concepts relevant to students, and will make use of choreographic forms.
At the high school level, students are expected to explore styles from around the world. We are able to offer information and short routines in numerous styles to allow for the exploration of different types of dance.
